Purpose of this Journey

The purpose of this journey is to include opportunities to visit church orphanages, kindergartens, schools, health clinics and training centres as well as briefings with key church personnel involved in delivering a range of services and programs.

A core element of the journey, the immersion experience, will be to spend some days living within a community to engage with local people in a village context to experience life as they live it.

Visit parish community of Fr Son
Day 6
To Kampot – visit Bishop Olivier’s former parish
Day 7
Mass with Bishop Olivier and community
Day 8
Visit Educational Institute for poor students – travel to Phnom Penh. Visit Catholic Mission funded project
Day 9
Visit Toul Sleng (Genocide Museum) and Choeung Ek (The Killing Fields)
Day 10
Visit Maryknoll sisters and their work (kindergarten / health clinics / HIV aids) Visit Lavalla school (mine victims)
Day 11
Phnom Penh to Kompong Cham (2 hours) visit Catholic Mission funded project with Fr Antony
Day 12
Visit Temples of Angor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm and others
Day 13
Depart Siem Reap
Day 14
Arrive Brisbane
